OK, I know that some folks may need help in starting this so here goes:
To start a new thread you must first choose the board that relates to whatever you are going to post. If you are posting a query about a certain person then you would want to find the board that would relate to that person and post there. For example, I want to post a question about my great-grandfather Archibald Forbes, I would start the thread in the Forbes surname board.
Once you know what board you are posting to, make sure you select an appropriate subject title. This will help to let folks know what the post is about and whether it is something they would be interested in!
Now the main point of this post, where do you click to start a new thread. Well, once you are at the place you want to post, just look up at the top right hand corner of the board and you will see several icons. There will be one that says "New Thread"! Click here and it will bring you up to a posting screen that will have a place for the subject title, what kind of message icon to use, all the tags you need for your post (such as bold, underline, colors, etc...), a row of smilies, the main message portion and several options under that.
Once you are at the posting page, it is very much like writing an email. Just type in your subject, compose your message, select your options and then click on "Post Message"! Voila!!! You have now started a new thread.
Replying to a thread is just the same except you would click on "Post Reply" in the upper right hand corner of the board.
Hopefully, this will cover what you need to know to start posting. If you have any other questions, just email me and I will gladly try to address them!
Thanks,
Ken
